I recently had the opportunity to attend a performance of Juggerknot Theatre’s Conjuring the King, and I have to say it was one of the best theater experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, the entire production was nothing short of spectacular. But it wasn’t just the acting that made this production so great. The writing was also top-notch, and the story was both engaging and thought-provoking. It explored complex themes like grief, fandom, and acceptance with a deft hand, and never shied away from the tough questions.
Starring Susie K. Taylor and June Raven Romero as Avarey, the president of the
“Miami” Elvis Fan Club, this one-woman show turns everyone from an audience
member into a pivotal fan and member of the club.

“Every performance will be a unique journey through the heart of Elvis mania,
guided by two of Miami’s noted performers: Susie K. Taylor and Raven Romero. No two
shows will be the same,” says Tanya Bravo of Juggerknot Theatre.
You become an honorary Fan Club Member once the show starts, and all 15 participants will be immersed into the Elvis Fan experience. There will be games, sing-alongs and
snacks. The location is a secret hideaway in Little River, disclosed only to the 15 Elvis Fan Club members (aka ticket holders) per show.
The production value was also truly impressive. The set design was intricate and detailed, and the lighting and sound effects were used to great effect throughout the performance. It all worked together to create an immersive experience that drew the audience into the story and made us feel like we were a part of it.
Overall, I was blown away by Conjuring the King. It was a powerful, emotional, and unforgettable experience that left me thinking about it long after I left. If you’re a fan of live performances, this is a must-see production that will leave you feeling inspired and moved.
